Leio is a budget tracker made by one person, Alex Palacean ("I", "me"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Leio on iPhone, including its widgets, Live Activities and Shortcuts actions.
The short version: I don't collect your data. Leio has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no servers of its own. What you enter stays on your devices and, if you choose, in your own iCloud.
Leio keeps the things you enter: payments and income, amounts, currencies, categories, notes, tags, debts, repeating payments, trips, and your settings such as your main currency and monthly budget.
I never receive a copy of your data.
To convert payments made in another currency, Leio asks the free Frankfurter service for exchange rates and the list of currencies. The only information in these requests is the currency codes involved (for example, "HUF to EUR"). No amounts, notes or anything else you've entered is sent. Like any website, Frankfurter can see your device's IP address when it answers the request. Rates are kept on your device so they also work offline.
If you set up the optional Shortcuts automation, iOS passes the amount and merchant name of a Wallet payment to Leio on your device after you pay. Leio adds it to your payments. This happens on your iPhone between the Shortcuts app and Leio. Nothing is sent to me. Leio never sees your card number or bank details.
If you also add the Shortcuts "Get Current Location" action to the automation and pass it to Leio, Leio saves where you paid (the coordinates, street and town) with that payment and shows it on a map. This is your choice in Shortcuts: Leio itself never asks for or reads your location. The location is stored with the payment like everything else you enter (on your device, and in your iCloud if sync is on), and the map is drawn by Apple's MapKit. Leave the location out of the automation and none is saved.
Leio offers a free trial and a one-time Lifetime purchase, handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. I don't receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Leio only checks with Apple whether the purchase is active on your account.
Reminders and alerts are scheduled on your device. If iCloud sync is on, Apple may send silent background notifications so your devices stay in sync. No notification content is sent to me.
To offer a trip currency when you travel, Leio looks at your device's time zone. It does not use your location or GPS, and the time zone never leaves your device.
